A LITTE BIT OF THIS & A LITTLE BIT OF THAT: LIPSTICK TIPS & TRICKS

A LITTE BIT OF THIS & A LITTLE BIT OF THAT: LIPSTICK TIPS & TRICKS

Without a doubt we know that lipstick is a must-have, the holy grail. It can add to or change your mood, outfit, and just bring out a confidence you never knew you had. So here are just a few tips and tricks I personally use to prime, set, and plump those lips.

1. Prep Yuh Lips

Before applying any lipstick, you must exfoliate with a gentle lip scrub. Our 2-in-1 Lip Scrub & Lip Balm, $12.25, is an organic sugar scrub that easily removes dead skin without drying or irritating your lips. With the convenient lip balm side, you can add some more moisture back to the lips; remember, a little goes a long way. After you've moisturized, I suggest using a tissue to blot the excess formula before applying your lipstick color.

2. Contour Yuh Pout

If you're like me, sometimes you want to give your pout a fuller look and the easiest solution is to contour. Here are 3 easy steps I use to achieve the look:

step 1: Gradually line your lips, then draw a line in the center of your lip then two short strokes on either side. Then apply your lipstick of choice.

step 2: In the center of your lips use a lighter shade to create a soft contour and use your fingers to blend outwards. If you don't have a lighter shade, then a cream concealer or cream eyeshadow can do the trick.

step 3: Seal the look with our lip gloss or lip balm to give that fuller lip appearance. To add even more volume place more lip gloss at the center of your lips.

3. Add Some Color

My favorite lipstick to use is our LOT1531 Silky Sensual Matte Lipstick,$25, that comes in different shades. It's a creamy, silky semi-matte finish formula creates a smooth texture and long-lasting wear. This all-new formula is non-drying and weightless. It also has a bit of sheen to it thanks to the natural oils.

4. Highlight Yuh Lips

It sounds strange but trust me, highlighting the lip can add some umph to your lips. Use our LOT1531 Highlighting Powder , $12.50, with a soft fluffy brush to apply the powder to your cupids bow. Add some to the center of your lower lip to give a fuller appearance. If you're feeling bold, use some of the highlighting powder to line your lips to add an even more dramatic look.

5. Set the Look

Use a translucent setting powder for an all day/night look. After applying lipstick use a dense flat brush or our Super Blender Makeup Sponge Set , $7.75, to dab some translucent powder on your lips. Leave it there for 3-5 minutes, then gently dust the rest off. Add another layer of lipstick color by dabbing it to your lips. Then voila! you're all done.
