If you're like me, dry skin is a major issue year round. But when Fall season approaches my skin screams of dryness. So how do I stay moisturized through these cold harsh weather days? Here are 5 tips that I tried that actually works.
Say No To Hot Water
Okay, you must be thinking I have clearly lost my mind. But the temperature of the water matters most especially as it gets colder this season. Hot water is a no, no. It actually dries your skin by stripping it of all its natural oils. The American Academy of Dermatology Association advises us to use warm water instead of hot water; if you insist on keeping it hot then you should try taking shorter baths and showers.
Moisturize Moisturize Moisturize
Whew, I just can't stress this enough. You have to moisturize that gorgeous skin of yours. Applying moisturizer is key to fighting dry skin. Ointments, creams, and our Whipped Body Butter can provide that much-needed moisture for your skin. I try to apply moisturizers to my skin right after a shower/bath and even after washing my hands/face. The Lot 1531 Cosmetics Whipped Body Butter has ingredients like mango, shea, and cocoa butters that softens, protects, and moisturizes your skin.
A Humidifier is Your Best Friend
I was never one to use a humidfier until I decided to travel to a small province in China and worked there for a year. The summer and winter had me so dry my voice cracked constantly and my skin was practically fighting for her life. Thanks to a humidifier recommended by a friend, I was able to stay moisturized throughout the cold season. Bestie, a humidifier in your home will maintain the moisture in the air. You could run it at night or day, depending on the level of dryness your skin is suffering.
Glove Up
Our hands will tell on us if we don't pay attention. To reduce your chance of having dry hands, try wearing a glove after you moisturize with our body butter. Glove up before going outside in the cold weather, when you're going to do stuff that require getting your hands wet, and when you're about to use grease or other chemicals.
Wear a Lip Balm
Last but certainly not least is to wear a lip balm. Lip balms are a must have this fall and for the upcoming winter season. Our 2-in-1 Lip Balm and Lip Scrub provides effective lip soothing ingredients to keep those lips soft and moisturized. Our chemical free lip balm and scrub offer a safe and effective way to protect your lips from the harsh fall weather.
